Growing up I would spend weekends between my mom and my dads house. I was often told that I was a horrible house guest. I guess not folding up my blankets, not wanting to help with dishes (or much clean up at all for that matter) was like a crime or something(insert sarcasm). Cut to today and I pride myself on being the perfect guest. Whether it be at a party or sharing a weekend with friends, I am now conscious of the kind of guest I am. It’s not only due to the tongue lashing I received from my parents, but also having been on the other side of things and having hosted my own parties helps me to see how much work goes into it all. The best hosts whether or not they love entertaining, put thought into their guests experiences, they care about whether you’re having a good time and they want to truly make the night fun for all.
If you’re like I was when I was younger and are a bit blasé about it all, know that even the smallest attempt on your part to make your host feel appreciated goes a long way. So this post is for my eternal Kato Kalin’s out there, my always a house guest never a host folks. I’m presenting to you a list of the top 10 host gifts that you can bring to the next party, sleepover or for any occasion where you’ll be sharing someone else’s space, drinking someone else’s liquor or sleeping on someone else’s sheets. This list is perfect for hosts of all types and can be used interchangeably for any situation or personality type. Enjoy…
