It’s a subject that most women are too embarrassed to discuss and for that reason alone I was excited to talk about it. I mean this blog is all about “inspiring you to live like it’s the weekend 7 days a week” after all and a girl can’t live like that if she’s embarrassed about the natural things that happen to her body, and people bladder leakage is normal! What a lot of people don’t realize is that it’s not a symptom suffered by older women. In fact bladder leakage is experienced by more women in their 20s than in their 80s. For this reason I went searching for some women in my own circle to see if they have experienced this. Armed with some questions I was happy to find that one very open and willing friend wasn’t embarrassed to talk about the situation. Read on to hear her story…
Katherine is a 40 something mother of 3, beautiful and vibrant, a career woman and she suffers from bladder leakage. I had a list of questions to ask and she was happy to answer. Here’s how our interview went.
When did you first experience bladder leakage?
- I first experienced bladder leakage during my pregnancy with my twin boys. So about 19 years ago.
• How did you go about finding solutions for protection?
- Small sanitary napkins
What feelings did you have when you realized you have bladder leakage?
- Anxiety… Sneezing, yelling etc causes the leakage.
Do you have any tips or advice for others experiencing bladder leakage?
