It’s time for another installment in the “Thing’s Making Me Happy Online” series. They are the things that are brining me much joy when I click around the internet. you know the stuff that puts a smile on my face, inspires my creativity and motivates me to keep striving for greatness. So without further ado…
I’ve been really into this whole concept of telling the story lately. In my current work as a Training Specialist( I teach adults stuff they need to know to do their jobs more efficiently) and in my work as a blogger, I find that I connect with people the most when I can pull them in with a story. This post (The Art of Storytelling) takes two of the Internets biggest influencers (Humans Of New York & StoryCorps )and asks how they get to the heart of an interview subjects story. Their answers are insightful and show that most interesting stories start first with simply being interested.
I am obsessed with finding the perfect space in my house to do my blogging work. I feel like I just do better work when I have a dedicated space and the spaces listed here show that you need not have a spare bedroom to do efficient work.
File this party under esthetically mouthwateringly pleasing. It melds an original idea and gets your guests to be active in the experience. If you’ve never heard of “Mountain Pie” (get in line I hadn’t either) then you’ve got to check this party out.
When I saw the ingredients to this cocktail I had to do a double take. Yeah you read it correctly rosé, sorbet (as in the fruity frozen dessert) and gin. It’s been super hot in Cali this summer so as soon as I saw this recipe I felt an imaginary AC blowing directly on my weave a la Beyonce in concert .
Best Questions to Ask on a First Date
It’s no surprise that first dates can be super nerve-wracking, I’ve been on a lot of them lately and it just always seems like the guys I tend to go out with have more of a desire to be heard then to do any listening. It could be nerves, it could be that I pick self-centered douche bags. Whatever the case may be, don’t fall into either of those categories by reading this very cool piece. If you happen to be deeply in love these fun questions can ignite some much-needed conversation.
So peeps, what’s currently bringing a smile to your face? I’d love to know in the comments below!

The thing that is currently bringing a smile to my face in life is definitely pumpkin flavored everything (I love fall). One of your pics that I like is the questions to ask on a first date – I think first dates are an important indicator of whether or not a person will be in your life in the future, so it is good to ask important questions from the beginning 😀

I’ve been thinking a lot about creating a small office space for my blogging activities. I think a proper “office space” would help me think better than sitting on the couch.

I need a dedicated space for blogging to make it feel more official. Sometimes working on the couch doesn’t feel like work. Great tips!

I had to check out the mountain pies, and wow does that look amazing! I love good storytelling, too. I think it’s why I love podcasts so much.

My husband recently remodeled a room upstairs so I can have a dedicated blogging space. I’m eager to get it set up and personalized to have my own work space.
