From the moment I heard about the ever popular “paint and sip” parties cropping up around my hood, I’ve been completely obsessed with the idea of creating and attending an”event experience”. If you’re asking yourself what the heck an “event experience” is , think of it as a social outing that combines creativity and learning with the best elements of a party- food, drinks, fun and friends.
This is why when one of my best friends invited me to Makeup Tonight’s sip and glam party, I jumped at the chance to attend.
Makeup Tonight’s concept is simple enough – a small group of ladies (our group was around 8) gather together at a hip event space (Aventine was our location and it’s seriously TO DIE) and learn to apply makeup like the pros all while sipping a perfectly curated cocktail. While the idea is simple enough it’s all about the execution and I have to say our session was pretty perfect.
Our makeup artist/instructor was super knowledgeable and super patient. We knew the night would involve learning how to create a day to night smoky eye, however we also got a ton of tips around great products to use ( a pretty awesome gift bag too) and tricks that we could use beyond the course.
I’ve attempted the “smokey eye” numerous times to no avail so in all honesty, I didn’t initially have a lot of confidence in being able to pull this off. I’m super happy to say that not only did I pull it off but our instructor told me I was one of the best in the class. I seriously couldn’t stop saying how pretty I felt all night. No seriously, all night I was like “I don’t want to sound full of myself but I honestly feel really pretty”. Which probably had a lot to do with the her perfect instruction but could also be attributed to the 3 glasses of wine I’d been enjoying as well.
If you can’t already tell I absolutely loved this event experience! I urge all of you ladies ( and gents if you’re into that sort of thing) to attend a Makeup Tonight party or book one for you and your crew (oh yeah they make house calls). Here are some more photo’s from the night for you to enjoy.

What a fun concept! I love makeup so I think I would love an event like this. I think it’s a wonderful idea to get together with girlfriends and play with makeup! I’d probably want to buy a ton of makeup too!
I love this idea. It is such a great way to get together with all your girls. It reminds me a bit of being a teenager and having sleepovers and trying make up on. I would definitely do this.
I wish this would come to Denmark, but it’s highly unlikely, unfortunately. I once suggested a Botox & fillers party and thought I was going to get deported. I think this would be a great idea for ‘mother’s night’ at my stepson’s school, but they generally prefer to eat apples and go for walks in the woods. I’m so out of my element here!
I love this idea! I’m so excited to attend my first paint night next month. And, now I’m going to be on the lookout for a Sip & Glam outing! I could really use the tips and know-how!
I have heard of the paint and sip parties, but not the sip and glam parties. I love this idea! I think it would be the perfect get together with friends. Who doesn’t want to visit friends and be pampered?
I love the idea of a makeup and sip event. It is always fun to sip, and it is really practical to learn makeup tips. This would be a great birthday idea! 😀
I haven’t heard about Sip and Glam until today. I am not a makeup gal and the only makeup I use are lipstick and mascara. But I know someone who would love this. My daughter!

I have never heard of an event like this! What a fun night out with the girl friends to have. I know that makeup has always been something I have wanted to learn more about but not gotten the chance to.

What an amazing event! I would love to learn to apply make up like a pro… and in a setting like this, how cool! Fancy curated drinks, fancy make up, and getting time in with the girls – I want this to happen in my area, pronto! 🙂
