Imagine being told that one or both of your parents have been diagnosed with cancer. What might you feel? Devastated, afraid, hopeless? Now imagine being told this news as a child. This is what makes Walk With Sally so special, the charity (who if you’re a regular reader you’ve seen me talk about here and here) connects children who have a parent diagnosed with cancer to a mentor who has been through the same ordeal.
“White Light White Night” is Walk With Sally’s yearly fundraiser, it is the event that allows the charity to continue the much-needed and meaningful work that they do for kids dealing with domino effect that is cancer. Attendees dress in all white to commemorate the founders mother Sally Arquette who believed in the healing spirit of the color white. So in honor of that belief, we as a community come together on a beautiful summer night to celebrate hope, healing, and everyone that has come to battle cancer. Take a look inside this inspiring and beautiful night after the jump…
With no detail left unattended, White Light White Night is as much fun as it is beautiful. Held on a rooftop in the South Bay, we were treated to some of the best selections from of the most well-known and delicious restaurants in Los Angeles. Everywhere you turned there was something decadent to taste. If there is a heaven for a foodie then I was definitely in it.
Aside from the truly amazing food, we were also treated to a really fun photo booth courtesy of Nordstrom. The photographer was super sweet and we felt like we were at an actual photo shoot. As you can see me and my girls just couldn’t resist hamming it up for the camera.
Walk With Sally pulled out all the stops and I’m sure a lot of favors when it came to their silent auction. Among the many items to bid on were Laker tickets, signed sports memorabilia, vacation retreats, wine tastings, among others. I loved this retro beach cruiser I just couldn’t resist the photo op!
On top of all of that we were also treated to some pretty fly live entertainment.

This was my first year covering White Light White Night and it definitely went above and beyond my expectations. I’d like to thank Walk With Sally for the invite and I encourage my readers to make a donation if possible. For more info head HERE.
Are there any charities that are near and dear to your heart? I’d love to know in the comments below.
Until next time enjoy more pictures from the event…

I love the picture in the window thing so cute and different. The food…now that’s how you party. I still can’t wear white I am in fear of it because I know I will mess it up but I do love these types of parties.

Beautiful pictures! I can’t imagine finding out that both my parents have cancer! So scary! This looks like a great fundraiser, although, every time I wear white, I spill on them!

Wow! What an amazing event for such an amazing cause. I cannot even fathom finding out that both parents have cancer. I pray that someday soon a cure is found for this terribly devastating disease 🙁 What an amazing fundraiser. You can tell they paid attention to every single detail. The photos are gorgeous. Great job!

Sounds like an amazing night!! All of the food looks amazing and delicious, especially the strawberry dessert. I would be nervous eating in white; I am always worried about spilling on myself in white clothes.

I have never heard about the Walk With Sally program until now. It’s nice to know that such program exists to help young children deal with cancer issues. I hope the fundraiser gets a lot of support, so the program will continue to help young children.
