Spring is such a tricky time of year to be fashion forward in Southern California, the days are warm and the nights cold, it may rain in the morning and be sunny and warm by afternoon. Do you wear the floral dress with the open toe sandals or the closed toe heel? It can all be a little much for a party hopper like me (file this under first world problems), but as a woman who attends many events around the city you have to be ready for whatever mother nature may bring(literally and figuratively) and do so effortlessly. I’m still working on the effortless part, but I’d like to thank you U by Kotex for sponsoring this post and helping make things a little more easy as I enjoyed afternoon tea at a good friend’s birthday celebration over the weekend.
I talk about parties here (those I go to and those I plan) but I rarely talk about the outfits I plan to wear to them. I don’t consider myself a “fashionista” and follow trends more than make them but I know what I like, and for those unpredictable moments in my life I always have a back up plan. Thank God for U by Kotex with 3D Capture Core!
U by Kotex® offers a full line of feminine care products for periods including pads, liners and tampons. Outstanding protection that keeps you one step ahead. U by Kotex® Ultra Thin Pads have 3D Capture Core*, a one-of-a-kind center that locks away wetness to help stop leaks. Available in our Cleanwear® pads, AllNighter® pads and Security* pads. I picked up a box of the Cleanwear pads because I wanted to feel comfortable and ultra feminine for the party I would be attending. I mean come on there’s nothing worse than having to worry about leakage when you’re out at an event when all you want to be worrying about is where the waiter is with your drink.
Well worrying was the last thing on my mind as I sipped tea with one of my most fabulous friends over the weekend! Shelly is a fellow Vagina Winologue (click here for more info on that) and one of the sweetest girls you’ll ever meet. She shows up to every party I host and does so with a positive fun-loving attitude. She is the perfect guest, so when she invited me to her afternoon tea birthday celebration I knew I had to show up for her.
With gorgeous arrangements scattered about the room, Shelly’s birthday celebration was the perfect excuse for all of us ladies to break out our Spring attire.
We noshed on decadent desserts and the cutest tea sandwiches at the historic Culver Hotel (which is rumored to have been the hotel of choice for much of the original cast in “The Wizard of Oz”). It was the perfect way to usher in Spring!
As a thank you to her guests Shelly gifted us with the cutest tea-pot inspired cake pops.
As a thank you to my readers I’m giving you the gift of U by Kotex! Simply click here for your free samples!
So Weekender’s how do you put a spring in your step before heading out to a party? Are there any wardrobe staples that you defer to in the Spring? Let me know in the comments below!
