I’ve seen Beyoncé in concert 4 times and I have to say each time is better than the last, so when my friend Val invited me to go see her new tour I think I screamed some inaudible version of yes and immediately started planning every last detail of the day. Thank God getting there would be one detail I didn’t have to worry about as I’d been assigned to test drive the Mitsubishi Mirage that week. To see how my experience was in the car and get the amazingness that is the Formation World Tour read on…
First off can I just say that I LOVE that Snapchat got in on the Formation fun and added special geotags for everyone snapping at the concert. Here’s one of me and my girl Valerie super excited and ready to slay!
The energy at the concert was palpable! It was great seeing the eclectic range of folks that are Beyoncé fans. It seemed like every age, race and sex was represented at her show.
I think one of my favorite parts of the experience was seeing how creative the fans got with their t-shirts!
Everyone knows that one of the most frustrating things about the concert experience is the parking. However in the space saver that is the Mitsubishi Mirage, I had nothing to worry about. We parked on the lawn of the Rose Bowl and while every car seemed super tight sandwiched between each row, we had more than enough room.
Not only was it easy to park but it was actually super roomy inside. At the end of the night, I’d run into some friends who had gotten stuck at the venue after UBER became overloaded with calls and what would’ve turned into a stressful situation was no biggie because I had the Mirage. So everyone hopped in and we were able to get home quite comfortably and safely.
So now that the getting there was taken care of all that was left to worry about was how good the seats were, and can I just tell you I damn near had a heart attack when I saw them! I know every single person around me was giving me major side eye after the fit I threw when I saw how close we were to the stage. I seriously couldn’t contain myself! Can I just say that we were closer than some celebrities (whose names will go unmentioned because this post is not intended to be braggy…not totally at least 😉
When my co workers asked how the concert was when I’d gotten back to work I told them I was close enough to pull her off the stage but far enough that I’d probably get caught running away (I kid I kid, hold off on that restraining order Bey).
Honestly speaking, the concert was everything and more! What I love most about Beyoncé is that you can tell she puts her all into EVERY SINGLE PERFORMANCE! I’ve been to concerts where the artist lets their background dancers and singers do the bulk of the work, but with Bey you know she’s going to go as hard if not harder than every person on that stage. I walked away feeling so empowered after seeing a woman be that fearless, that bold, and that in control.
I want to thank the folks over at Mitsubishi for letting me test drive the Mirage. As you know, we over here at Weekend’s With Winter much prefer lists over long reviews. So here is my list of pro’s and con’s as it relates to my experience in the car.
- GREAT price point! This ride starts below $13,000
- Mp3 player; I absolutely loved the iPhone mirror image feature
- Easy Bluetooth set-up
- Seat Warmers
- Dual side temp control
- Rear camera for easy parallel parking
- GREAT gas mileage! I filled up once and that was a mere $20.00 at 2.59 a gallon!
- The golden caramel color of the car was super easy on the eyes
- Roomy interior & spacious trunk
- Smooth and tight ride
- Not a lot of horsepower, it took some time to get this ride going
- Sound system was pretty mediocre
- Seat warmers stayed on for only 5-10 minutes at a time
- MP3 controls were hard to find (they were in the glove box)
I actually loved driving this car more than I thought I would! It’s perfect for new drivers, students and economically conscious families.
So folks, tell me, are you headed to a concert in a city near you? If so how do you plan to arrive in style? I’d love to know in the comments below.
