The Oscars are such a fun time to be in LA. There are a ton of parties to attend and celebrity sightings to be had if you’re in the right place at the right time. I particularly get excited as a blogger because it means it’s the week of Vanity Fair Social Club – a week-long event that brings influencers’ and movie makers together for a series of panel discussions, socializing and the opportunity to take great photo’s around a swanky work space.
Lucky for me I got to arrive in style as I test drove the Hyundai Sonata Sport that week. Check out how the week went down after the jump!
In the past the event had been held at WeWork in Hollywood, however this year the club had some new digs. Platform development in Culver City California was our new home and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint. With its huge indoor/outdoor space, comfy open seating and easy to come by parking (I’m still having flashbacks of that parking ticket I got at last years event) I felt right at home.
One of the things I adore most about the event are the iconic Vanity Fair photographs disbursed around the room. I always have such a great time trying to capture the perfect picture in front of them. This years 21st Annual Hollywood image by Annie Leibovitz was no exception. I honestly feel like Annie knows how to capture both a stunningly beautiful yet artistically honest photo.
Food and drinks are overflowing at the event each day as well which makes all that networking much easier. They serve small yet yummy selections of food and the booze is always top-notch (priorities people priorities). Plus it doesn’t hurt that the waiters are nice to look at as well 😉
Viktor and Rolf (their FlowerBomb is to die!)were sponsors as well as Yves Saint Laurent, L’Oreal, and Lancom among others. They were very gracious and outfitted all of the attendees with some great swag.
I was so lucky that my car review fell right at the same time as my attendance at Vanity Fair Social Club because I felt super fancy valet parking this baby everyday. The last car had been pretty small (check that review out here) so this was the polar opposite. However it was perfect for the week’s event as I was able to easily carry all of my blogger necessities(laptop, DSLR, camera lenses, makeup, purse, etc.) to the event.
Although the car was bigger than what I’m currently driving, it drove like a sports car and handled like a dream, I have never felt more safe going over the speed limit (just a tiny bit though, I’m a very scary driver). Here’s what I loved about the car.
- Dual side temps
- Mp3 player and satellite radio
- Bluetooth
- Blind-spot and rear-cross-traffic alerts
- Proximity key
- Seat Warmers
- Rear camera for easy parallel parking
- The trunk was SUPER spacious
- Plush two-tone leather seats
- Super smooth ride
- Good on gas at 25 city/36 highway miles
- Roomy back and front seat
I truly enjoyed my time in the Hyundai Sonata Sport. It’s the perfect car for a family or folks looking to up the fancy factor in their lives at a great price (Ummm starting price is only $23,000).
So guys, did you watch the Oscars? What were your thoughts? I’d love to know in the comments below!
