Josh & Ambers Engagement Masquerade Ball

in Events, Uncategorized on 13/11/14

title

There’s just something about love that brings out the party animal in people. Don’t believe me? Go to any wedding and you’ll see everyone from toddlers to grandparents on the dance floor getting their groove on (perhaps a bit off beat) with no care in the world. It’s the feeling I enjoy most at weddings. It’s the feeling that was in the air at Josh and Amber’s masquerade engagement ball.

Growing up an only child it was a blessing when at 15 years old I met my best friend and her 13 brother’s and sister’s . My family and I were immediately embraced as apart of their family and their house has always been a source of love, life, and laughter ever since. So when my brother from another mother Joshua got engaged to Amber I felt the same excitement and joy that any sister would feel when she finds out that her brother finally finds love and happiness with as terrific as a person as he is.

While I’ve had the pleasure of attending many beautiful engagement parties none of them could quite prepare me for the elegance and beauty of the masquerade ball that was Josh and Amber’s engagement celebration. One of my favorite sayings “the love is in the details” was more than a sentiment that night. From the delicious food, the gorgeous ambiance, and the impeccable attention to detail, love was poured into every element of the evening.

My mother was my date for the evening and as we were welcomed to the party we were met by men and women on stilts. From here I could tell this would be a night to remember.

While we were instructed to bring masks those of us who aren’t good at following directions *raising my hand* were given a variety to choose from.

After a short cocktail hour we were ushered into the main dining tent where we were surrounded by beautiful centerpieces with masquerade masks woven in, a New Orleans style band, a mashed potato bar and some of the BEST macaroni and cheese and roast beef I have ever tasted! It was a food lovers dream!

The Bride and Groom to be then took the stage to thank their guests for coming. I love how Josh looks as Amber talks about how much he means to her. You can just feel the genuine love shared between these two when they are together.

After dinner and dancing we were all treated to the dessert table to end all dessert tables! Cotton candy, churros, donuts, candy apples and more!

A party is no fun without sharing it with the ones you love. So  the night was made more wonderful by all of the family and friends who came together to celebrate the happy couple.

It was so much fun playing dress up and there were some beautiful gowns that night, however my favorite look of the night was from Josh’s cousin Tammy. She was giving me  old Hollywood glam and she just looked stunning!

Congrats again to the happy couple! I had such a wonderful time and am so thankful that I get to witness your love story.

I’d like to especially thank Amber’s brother and sister in law Mr. and Mrs. Tyson for having us at your lovely home! The evening was perfection and you guys were amazing hosts! Oh and sorry about breaking that champagne flute :/

The evening was so enchanting. Not one stone was left unturned. My fav was definitely the macaroni and cheese. If you have a New Orleans themed masquerade ball, you have to have great food. Believe me they did not miss a beat there. I would like to send a shout out to Dr. and Mrs. Tyson for lending their beautiful home for this elegant party.
