This is not a beauty blog! I repeat THIS IS NOT A BEAUTY BLOG! However today I am going to talk about what a lot of beauty blogs talk about – skin care. I’ve struggled with my skin for most of my adult life. From full on breakouts to the dark scars left behind in their wake, it’s been a struggle to get the skin I can feel comfortable in. I’ve honestly tried nearly everything to promote a healthy complexion but what I have found is that while some routines work for a period of time they don’t seem to work for the long run. I constantly find myself starting and stopping a regimen because it’s either too expensive to continue or they don’t offer consistent results. That is until I was approached by Influenster to review their Clear Proof VoxBox.
As a blogger there are times when we are given products to review for our blogs in hopes of sharing our opinions, well this was one of those times. I usually try to keep any products consistent with the theme of this blog(party planning, inspiration, home decor etc.) But I realized when approached by Influenster that after years of struggling with my own skin care issues this would be the perfect subject to tackle with my readers. Besides, at the end of the day this blog is all about providing you with the tools that can help you live your best life and I for one certainly feel my best when I look my best.
So back to Clear Proof. I got the package and was instructed to use the product for a full 4 weeks and apply it 1-3 times a day. If dryness were to occur we were told to scale back. I began by applying the 4-step process twice a day. In my package came :
(1) Clarifying Cleansing Gel
(2) Blemish Control Toner
(3) Acne Treatment Gel
(4) Oil-Free Moisturizer for Acne-Prone Skin
I started by cleansing with the Clarifying Gel, then applying the Blemish Control Toner followed by the Acne Treatment Gel and finishing up with the Oil-Free Moisturizer. It seemed like a long process initially but actually ended up going pretty quickly and I started to notice that after each use I felt like my skin had been revitalized.
I have a combination of both dry and oily skin in my t-zone and It’s been my experience that with most acne treatment gels your skin can begin to peel and flake after continued use. However after using the Clear Proof Acne Gel and following it up with the moisturizer my skin did not flake and was not the slightest bit oily. I was even able to apply my makeup primer without feeling like I had a ton of product on my face.
Here is a shot of my skin from both angles before using Clear Proof. You’ll notice that I have quite a bit of dark marks on my cheeks (click on the picture to enlarge).
Here is a shot of my skin after 4 weeks of using Clear Proof! The spots have all but faded!!!
You can get Clear Proof via Mary Kay, I would recommend it to anyone having struggling with acne and dark or red marks.
